Sushi bake

Sushi bake is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines the flavors of sushi in a baked form, perfect for gatherings and family meals.

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb imitation crab meat, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into strips
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  5. Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat and stir in the vinegar mixture. Let it cool.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine shredded crab meat, mayonnaise, sriracha, and green onions.
  7. In a baking dish, spread the sushi rice evenly on the bottom.
  8. Top the rice with the crab mixture, spreading it evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until heated through.
  10. Garnish with nori strips and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spiciness by adding more or less sriracha.
  • Can substitute imitation crab with real crab or shrimp.
  • Serve with soy sauce and pickled ginger for added flavor.
