Strawberry Basil Chia Jam

A delightful and unique jam made with fresh strawberries, basil, and chia seeds, perfect for spreading on toast or adding to desserts.

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, basil, and honey (or maple syrup).
  2. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the strawberries start to break down.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the chia seeds and lemon juice.
  4. Let the mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes to thicken.
  5. Transfer the jam to a jar and refrigerate. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
