Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  4. Once risen, turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
  5. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes, then preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • For best results, use a kitchen scale to measure flour.
  • Make sure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • Allowing the dough to rise longer enhances the flavor and texture.
