  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the molasses, sugar, and butter until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
