These easy burger buns are soft, fluffy, and perfect for any burger. They are simple to make at home and require minimal ingredients.

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, milk, melted butter, and egg to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
  8. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before slicing and serving with your favorite burger.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add sesame seeds on top before baking.
  • These buns can be frozen for later use.
  • Make sure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
