Crispy Korean tofu

Crispy Korean tofu is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines the crunchiness of perfectly fried tofu with a spicy and savory Korean sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut it into cubes.
  2. Coat the tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly covered.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger to create the sauce.
  5. Once the tofu is crispy, pour the sauce over it and toss to coat.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double fry the tofu.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang.
  • Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
