Coffee Mocha Bûche de Noël

A delightful holiday dessert that combines the rich flavors of coffee and chocolate in a traditional Yule log shape.

  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a jelly roll pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the melted butter and vanilla extract to the egg mixture.
  5. Fold in the dry ingredients and brewed coffee until well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes, then invert onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar.
  9. Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool completely.
  10. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  11. Unroll the cake, spread the whipped cream over it, and roll it back up.
  12. Frost the outside with remaining whipped cream and decorate with chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Make sure to use fresh brewed coffee for the best flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • This dessert can be made a day in advance for easier preparation.
