  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chocolate shavings for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt gently.
  4. Spread the batter onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  5. While the cake is baking, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  6. Once the cake is cool, spread the chestnut puree evenly over the surface.
  7. Roll the cake tightly from one end to the other and place seam-side down.
  8. Frost the outside with the whipped cream mixture and decorate with chocolate shavings.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
