Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and spices.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
  9. Pour the remaining batter on top and swirl in the rest of the caramel sauce with a knife.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
