  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oat flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of espresso powder to the batter.
  • These brownies can be made vegan by using a flax egg instead of applesauce.
